Spring 2017 CarmenCanvas Known Issues

We are constantly monitoring the status of all our services and their related components.

This page contains known issues related to CarmenCanvas, the Carmen landing page functionality, and the Carmen sync with the registrar's system.

Issue: Course enrollments, including adds and drops, are not being reflected on the Carmen landing page

Work-arounds: Students can enter their course by using the shortcut links located on the right-hand side bar of the Carmen landing page. Students may also still see their dropped courses on the Carmen landing page until the issue is resolved.

Instructors who do not have access to their course through the Carmen landing page, please call 8-HELP and asked to be transferred to the Carmen support team.

We are currently working to resolve the issue and apologize for the inconvenience.

We apologize to those users who received a large volume of notifications from previous semester courses on February 15.

As a deprecated system, notifications have been disabled for D2L. After May 14, 2017, D2L will no longer be available to faculty, staff or students.

Issue: Some Carmen (D2L) users are receiving a large volume of text or email notifications from previous semester courses. Please disregard these messages. We are currently working to resolve the issue.

Carmen Landing Page service restored with additional work planned.

We have increased the capacity of the servers that support the Carmen landing page. Users are able to login in again. We will be deploying an additional change later this afternoon to address an underlying issue.

Issue: We are experiencing intermittent instances of the Carmen landing page not loading. We are working to resolve the issue. 

Work-around: Please wait a few minutes then re-load the page.

Issue: Merged courses in Canvas are not being reflected on the Carmen landing page. Users may still see the old course title on the Carmen landing page, with a status of Unpublished.  

Work-around: Merged courses will reflect in Canvas. Users will access the course from the Carmen landing page using the link the instructor has designated as the main course. We will remove these no-longer-needed course titles later in the semester.

Users can enter either learning management system (Canvas or D2L) directly by using the shortcut links located in the right-hand sidebar under Announcements.
