Wiki-space owners are expected to control who has access to their spaces. Access can range from completely private (only specified individuals can see or edit the space) to completely public (anyone who knows the URL can see and edit the space).
Wiki-space owners should take FERPA, copyright, and intellectual property rights into consideration when setting access permissions.
There are three methods you might use to assign access to your CarmenWiki:
Permissions - General access rights can be set for the space as a whole. Space owners may also grant access to individuals with active CarmenWiki accounts, with each user having a customize level of access if desired. See Default Ownership and Roles for information regarding default permission settings.
Group - Groups can also be set up to make it easier to assign a set of people the same level of access.
Restricted pages - Within a space, pages can be restricted so that only specified individuals or groups can see or edit them.
Individuals who have an active OSU username (lastname.#) can activate their CarmenWiki account by logging in to the CarmenWiki homepage: https://carmenwiki.osu.edu.
The simple act of logging in is all that is necessary to activate the account. Once the account is active, it can be added to a wiki space.
