Google Maps allows you to embed, customize, mashup and use Google Maps within your U.OSU site.
You can insert a Google Map into the sidebar of a page or post by adding the Google Maps Widget (Appearance > Widgets).
Add a Map to a Post or Page
Once activated, you create, modify and insert Google Maps by clicking the globe icon on the appropriate post or page.
To begin, navigate to the post or page. Then, click the globe icon to the right of the Add Media button. Options to create and insert a map appear.
See Google Maps Plugin instructions for details about how to create, customize and insert your map. Additional support can be found on the WordPress Google Maps page, scrolling down to find the most relevant section.
While creating your map, you might choose to zoom in on a particular area, change to street view, or include a Place Marker to insert additional location information.
Customizing your default settings
There are a few ways to customize your Google Map. Before you create a map, set its default size and type. Click Settings and select Google Maps.
The map types include: roadmap, satellite, hybrid and terrain. Changes to a map type applies to all newly created maps. This change will not apply to previously created maps.
You can only choose map type in the default settings. When you create it map, it will be the default map type setting.
