Safari unzips downloaded files

Issue: Instructors working in Safari are unable to successfully import a D2L export .zip format into Canvas using the Import content into this course tool because Safari automatically unzips downloaded files.

Work-around: Use a different browser or turn off the option in Safari:

  1. Open Safari

  2. From the Safari menu, click Preferences

  3. Under the General tab, uncheck the option Open "safe" files after downloading
