The Mediasite Desktop Recorder allows you to create one of four recording types:
Slideshow + Audio: [often the best choice] Use Slideshow + Audio if your recording will be your voice and a powerpoint or similar presentation. Choosing this option uses the least amount of storage and will upload and play faster.
Slideshow + Video: Use this option if your presentation is a powerpoint, but you would also like to use your webcam or another USB video device to discuss additional content.
Screencast + Audio: Use this option if you wish to capture a moving demonstration of what is happening on your computer screen (e.g., you wish to demonstrate to students how to create a complex spreadsheet or will be annotating your slide presentation).
Screencast + Video: Use this option if you need to use both the webcam and capture a moving demonstration on your computer screen. Be aware that this option uses the most bandwidth. Depending on the bandwidth of your viewers' computer, viewers may have trouble accessing a recording of this type.
